IN CONVERSATION ABOUT WHAT SHAPES REAL ESTATE TODAY AND TOMORROW
Real estate is constantly evolving. That is why Stadim regularly brings together a select group of clients, investors and experts around current topics that impact the industry.
During our Expert Talks, we create space for reflection, dialogue and depth. In a small-scale and informal setting, experts share their insights and participants discuss challenges, trends and strategic choices in real estate.
At our fifth Expert Talk, Peter De Keyzer provided an evening that prompted reflection. His central message was clear: Europe does not lack plans, but it does lack the ambition to make them a reality. As economic and geopolitical relations shift, Europe risks being left behind by caution and indecision.
His appeal was mainly cultural: think bigger, encourage entrepreneurship and take more responsibility for our future. The lively discussion after his keynote confirmed that this message clearly stuck with the audience, precisely the dynamic we aim for with our Expert Talks.
Expert Talk number four brought together policymakers, experts and professionals around the challenges within Flemish permit policy. Minister Jo Brouns outlined the current bottlenecks: a large number of permit applications, projects that get stuck along the way and an increasing number of appeal procedures. With his action program he wants to focus on more consultation, solution-oriented advice and a more efficient approach to permit disputes. The implementation of this is in full swing today.
The panel discussion that followed also made it clear how strongly the theme is alive within the sector. People reflected from different angles on the need for more legal certainty and workable procedures, always with the same ambition in mind: a future-oriented licensing policy.
Our third Stadim Expert Talk focused on healthcare real estate, with a special focus on small-scale housing with social impact. Speakers from Toontjeshuizen and Inclusie Invest shared concrete examples of innovative care concepts and impact-driven investment models, where social and financial returns come together. Karine Moykens, secretary general of the Department of Care, provided policy insights on future-oriented residential care and the importance of flexible regulation. The evening brought together investors, care organizations and experts around one shared ambition: to create sustainable and inclusive housing solutions for people with care needs.
Our second Stadim Expert Talk focused on student real estate, presenting the fifth edition of the Kotkompas, developed together with Diggit StudentLife. We shared exclusive insights on rents, kot scarcity and market trends, based on an extensive survey of developers and more than 2,000 students. The evening brought together investors, developers and sector professionals to discuss urban differences, future challenges and evolutions within student housing. The event provided a platform for knowledge sharing and dialogue around a segment that is playing an increasingly important role within the real estate market.
Our first Stadim Expert Talk focused on the impact of artificial intelligence on the real estate industry. AI expert Jonathan Berte, founder of Robovision, shared his views on how AI makes real estate analysis more efficient and creates new investment opportunities. The evening brought together real estate professionals around concrete applications, challenges and future prospects of AI. The event marked the start of our Expert Talk series, aimed at inspiring clients and partners with insights from leading experts and innovative developments within the industry.
